The Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has charged the newly sworn-in members of the National Youths Service Corps(NYSC) to be disciplined and embark on various camp activities that will increase their developmental skills. Governor AbdulRazaq stated this during the swearing-in ceremony of the Batch 'C', Stream I Youths Corps members, at the NYSC Orientation Camp at Yikpata, Edu Local Government Area, where the Chief Judge of Kwara State, Justice Abiodun Adebara, who was represented by Justice Tauhid Salihu Umar administered the "NYSC Oath of Allegiance" to the corps members. The Kwara State Government has condemned the recent alleged assault against a youth corps member serving at Government Day Secondary School, Kulende, Ilorin, who was assaulted by a teacher named Mrs. Amuzat Fatima Nike. The Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Sa'adatu Modibbo Kawu, stated this today at the Ministry's Headquarter in Ilorin. Movement Restriction, as Monthly Sanitation Exercise holds on Saturday

This is to inform members of the public that the sanitation exercise for the month of November, 2024, will come up on Saturday 30th beginning from seven to ten o'clock (7:00 am to 10:00 am) in the morning. Residents of the State are enjoined to participate in the exercise by cleaning their residential and business environments. It is also mandatory for residents to clear drainages and bushes around their surroundings, for health and safety reasons.  During the exercise, there will be no vehicular movement across the state within the three hour duration of the exercise, except those on special duties. Security, monitoring agents, environmental health officers (Wole-wole) and members of the Environmental Task Force will go round to monitor and ensure compliance with the aim of sanctioning offenders, as may be necessary.  Waste management trucks will also be made available for waste collection and subsequent dumping at the government approved dump site.  Members of the publi...

KWSG PROCURES MEDICAL EQUIPMENT FOR SSH EYE CLINIC

In a significant step toward enhancing healthcare delivery, the Kwara State Government has procured advanced medical equipment for the Eye Clinic section of Sobi Specialist Hospital, Ilorin.   The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Amina Ahmed El-Imam, disclosed this during the week, on her on the spot assessment visit to the hospital.  While assessing the quality of work done at the newly renovated facility as well as recently procured state of the art equipment, the Commissioner affirmed that, the eye clinic now has the capacity to serve Kwara and other States as well. Dr El-Imam thereafter encouraged residents to take advantage of the upgraded facility at Sobi Specialist Hospital, located within Ilorin metropolis, for their eye care needs. KWSPHCDA Kicks Off November 2024 Polio Immunization Campaign

The Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency (KWSPHCDA), in collaboration with its partners, will commence the November round of the polio immunization campaign from Saturday, November 30th, to Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024, across all 16 Local Government Areas of the state. This initiative aims to protect vulnerable children under 5 years of age from poliomyelitis. The campaign follows the isolation of circulating variant poliovirus from both human and environmental sources in several states. The immunization exercise will be conducted as a house-to-house activity, with health workers also visiting markets, churches, mosques, schools, and social gathering places to administer two drops of the Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) to eligible children, regardless of their previous immunization status.
