Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has approved a financial bonus that is equivalent to the monthly PAYE obligation for every civil servant in the state, including local government workers. The emergency support measure will last for at least three months, according to a statement by the Commissioner for Finance Dr. Hauwa Nuru. "This bonus has been approved as a buffer to bridge the gap that the correct PAYE deduction may have wrought on the newly implemented mininum wage. It is meant to serve as a soothing balm as workers adjust to the PAYE that was just correctly implemented in line with the Personal Income Tax Act," she said.  "The payment of the bonus is effective from October and will run till December 2024. This is a significant step by His Excellency to support workers."   • GDSS Gaa Akanbi, other winners get huge cash rewards, urged to do more  Kwara State Tax Club Quiz Competition (2024 edition) ended on Thursday, with Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq presenting the overall winner, Government Day Secondary School Gaa Akanbi, with the first cash prize of N2.5 million and a trophy in appreciation of their excellent display. Kwara State Government has banned some categories of vehicles from making use of Ahmadu Bello Way,GRA, Ilorin.  This restriction notice was issued today the 8th November,2024, by the Ministry of Works and Transport with a directive to KWARTMA to commence enforcement with immediate effect. In giving public the notice, the Ministry has commenced the erection of restriction signages at some designated spots from Challenge through Ahmadu Bello Way. According to the  statement made by the Honorable Commissioner for Works and Transport, Honourable Abdulqowwiyu Olododo, Ahmadu Bello way is the road network that links to Government House,as such, the signage will be mounted along this axis to restrict access by Motorcycles, Tricycles, commercial vehicles and heavy duty vehicles of certain categories. The Kwara State Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Usman Yunusa Lade has undertaken an inspection visit to the ongoing public lavatory projects at Eruda, Balogun Alanamu, and Abata Asunkere communities all in the Ilorin metropolis. The Commissioner who carried out the inspection visit of the facility on Thursday stated that the purpose was to conduct on the spot assessment of the work done so far by the contractor. Hon. Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency under the leadership of the Executive Secretary, Dr.Nusirat Elelu had an impactful engagement meeting with newly sworn in Executive chairmen of all the sixteen LGA's of the State .
