KWSG COMMENCES STATEWIDE STAKEHOLDERS SENSITIZATION EXERCISE ON L-PRES PROJECT

In preparation for the official flag-off of the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES), the Kwara State Government through the State Coordinating Office has commenced stakeholders' sensitization exercise for the project. The project, which has as part of its objectives, to improve livestock productivity, resilience, and commercialization of selected value chain and strengthened the country's capacity to respond to an eligible crisis in the sector. Rural Electrification Agency Supports Kwara Farmers with Solar-Powered Pumps

The Rural Electrification Agency (REA), in collaboration with National Fadama Development Project (NFDP), has supported dry season farming across the 16 local government areas of state with Solar Powered Irrigation Pumps, to enhance food security in Kwara State and to ensure all year-round in farming/cropping. This is coming as a result of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in July 2022 between REA and (NFDP). Presenting the solar-powered irrigation pumps, the Higher Technical Officer, Rural Electrification Agency, North Central Zone, Engr. KWARA SCORES 99% IN INSECTICIDE TREATED NET IMPLEMENTATION

...as Partners commend KWSG Kwara State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Amina Ahmed El-Imam, today received the Implementation team of the Integrated Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC) and Insecticide Treated Net (ITN) campaign for year 2023 on a debrief mission at the Ministry of Health headquarters at Fate, Ilorin.  Presenting the report, the Integrated SMC/ITN Campaign Manager, Mr. Christopher Dangana, of the Society for Family Health (SFH) said after making relevant analysis of the implementation indices, stated that "our assessment of the exercise in Kwara is 99% based on coverage and 89.5% based on distribution of the 2.3 million ITN donated to the state through the Global Fund grant.  Speaking further, Mr. John Ocholi, who is the director technical and programme for the Society for Family Health (SFH), stated that 'seven thousand six hundred and eighteen (7,618) personnel were deployed, trained and will be handsomely rewarded across all cadres for the year ...

KWSG SEALS OFF QUARRY SITE

In a bid to rid the state of illegal business outfits, Kwara State Government has commenced the sealing off of quarry sites operating without necessary documents to validate their operational mode in the State. The Acting Executive Chairman Kwara State Geographic Information Service (KW-GIS), Esv. Abdulkareem Babatunde Sulyman, led government team to some of the quarry sites along Eyenkorin express way, in Asa Local Government of the State, where the business was at its peak, as trucks were sited loading stones from the site. The Kwara State Government has again reassured youths in the state of its eagerness to create youths driven initiatives targeted at propelling youths towards improved livelihood. The Commissioner supervising the Ministry of Youths Development, Hon. Yunusa Usman Lade, gave the assurance during a maiden meeting with the entire staff members, yesterday at the Ministry's conference room.  Hon. Kwara inks partnership deals with NEXIM as IATF enters final days

Kwara State Government has struck a partnership deal with the Nigerian Export Import Bank towards facilitating export-related industrialisation and investment promotions around local resources in the state.   The signing of the deal occurred on Monday in Cairo, Egypt, on the sidelines of the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF) following briefings on the various economic projects of the state government, especially the under-construction industrial park, the IsDB-backed agroprocessing zone, sugar film factory, garment and Shea butter factories, solid minerals, and the visual arts centre, which is unique in West Africa subregion.
