Towoju calls for calm as elections draw near

The Kwara State Commissioner for Communications, Hon. Olabode George Towoju, has called on political parties to be united while maintaining peace and orderliness as the general elections approach.  Towoju made the call at a stakeholders meeting of all political parties in the State, organized by the Kwara State Signage and Advertisement Agency (KWASAA), held at the Ministry's conference room today.  He said the government of the day is passionate about the security of lives and properties and he pleaded that all acts of thuggery and vandalism should be shunned. The Commissioner said  that anyone who acts in an inappropriate manner and causes  disorderliness will be made to face the law.  Earlier, the Assistant Commissioner of Police (Operations), ACP Aniefiok Akpan, submitted that parties should toe the line of peace and urged them to desist from taking laws into their hands, in the case of grievances.   "It is not uncommon for parties to try and outshine themselve

Commissioner Pledges Support in the fight against Illegal billboards

The Kwara State Commissioner of Communications, Hon. Olabode George Towoju, has reiterated that illegal billboards and posters in parts of  the state will be removed in order to give the state a cleaner and tidier look. He made this assertion today in his office at a meeting with the Director General of the Kwara State Signage and Advertisement Agency (KWASAA), Mr. Olorunshola Omotayo and his management team. Towoju, who promised that the government will do all in its power to make sure that the state is rid of illegal Billboards that are constituting environmental nuisance, also gave the assurance that the government will attend to the Agency's needs, adding that all the tools they need to function effectively will be provided. On his part , the Director General of KWASAA, Mr. Olorunshola Omotayo,  commended the  commissioner for his committment to the development of Kwara State.  He sought government's help in getting a removal machine , so
