KWSG Charges Intending Pilgrims To Be Good Ambassadors

The Kwara State Government has charged all intending Muslim Pilgrims from Kwara to be good ambassadors of the state by being steadfast and focused throughout the hajj rites, emphasizing that the pilgrimage goes beyond tourism and social media affairs.

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Mamman Saba Jibril made the call at the weekend in Ilorin during the enlightenment lecture and prayer organized by the Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board in the board's premises.

Prof. Jibril, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, General Service, Alh. Abdulganiyu Shuaib encouraged the intending pilgrims to compliment the efforts of the state government by exhibiting good behaviour and  abide by  the laid down rules and regulations of the board in order to ensure a successful holy pilgrimage.

In his remarks, the State Amirul Hajj who is also the Olupo of Ajase-Ipo, Oba Ismail Yahaya Alebiosu reiterated the importance of good ambassadorial roles by the intending pilgrims, urging them to avoid being provoked but rather be peaceful and remain dedicated to the hajj rites. 

Oba Alebiosu gave kudos to the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (CON), the  Chairman, Nigeria Governors' Forum for putting in place all necessary measures to ensure a hitch-free hajj exercise.

The Chairman of the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Professor Moshood Jimba acknowledged the efforts of the state government in ensuring that necessary logistics were put in place for a smooth hajj exercise, ranging from renovation of the hajj camp, appointment of competent hands for the board, to extending the good gestures to the Aiport Authority.

Prof. Jimba, who also noted that Hajj being an important pillar of lslam must be taken seriously, advised that intending pilgrims should pay attention to all the lectures to ascertain that they don’t miss out on any activities which will benefit them.
Earlier, the Executive Secretary of the board, Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkadri,  stated that a total of 2,150 intending pilgrims had so far been registered and ready to be airlifted by Max Air from the middle of May, 2025. 

He enjoined the intending pilgrims to see hajj as a sacred rite, which must be done with total dedication and steadfastness.

Alhaji Abdulkadri further hinted that the proper enlightenment programme for the intending pilgrims will take place at the premises of the board by next week Sunday, which he promised would be insightful as lectures will be delivered by seasoned Islamic scholars.

Special prayers were later offered for the intending pilgrims by the Imam Imale of Ilorin, Sheikh Abdullahi Abdulhameed. 

The enlightenment programme was attended by the Balogun Gambari of Ilorin, Alh. Muhammad Adebayo and prominent religious leaders, among others.

Kwara TESCOM Opens Application Portal for Teaching Jobs

Kwara Govt Okays Conditional Re-opening of Forest for Sawmilers

The Kwara State Government has officially announced the re-opening of forests in the State for sawmilling and forestry related activities with conditions aimed at preserving the forests as crucial natural resources for generations to come.  The announcement was made by the Commissioner for Environment, Hajia Nafisat Musa Buge, as part of the government's position while interacting with officials and key-stakeholders of saw millers, chainsaw operators and plank sellers in the State today.
