Kwara State Government to Temporarily Close Ibrahim Taiwo Road for Asphalt Works

The Kwara State Government has announced the full closure of Ibrahim Taiwo Road (Taiwo Isale), beginning on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. The temporary closedown is to allow for asphalt laying as part of ongoing road rehabilitation efforts on the road.

Honourable Commissioner for Works, Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo, stated that all vehicular traffic will be redirected via Wahab Folawiyo (Unity Road) and Obbo Road. Motorists and commuters are advised to anticipate some delays and are urged to drive with caution, remain patient, and cooperate with traffic officers on duty.

“We sincerely regret any inconvenience this may cause and thank the public for their continued understanding,” Engr. Olododo said. “This project is a vital step in enhancing the road’s economic impact and boosting connectivity, in line with the urban renewal vision of His Excellency Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. Our team is committed to delivering the project swiftly and responsibly.”

The government assures residents and road users that all necessary steps are being taken to reduce disruption, with safety and efficiency as top priorities.

Motorists are advised to comply with traffic directives and plan their routes accordingly during this period.
