Kwara Govt Partners Indigenous Pharmaceutical Companies

To encourage the growth of indigenous pharmaceutical companies in the State, the Kwara State Hospital Management Board (KW-HMB) is partnering with Sam Pharmaceutical Company Limited in the drug supply chain system to improve healthcare service delivery for all residents of Kwara.

The Executive Secretary of the KW-HMB, Dr. Abdulraheem Malik, announced the initiative yesterday while inspecting the facilities of Sam Pharmaceutical Company Limited at Geri Alimi, Ilorin, Kwara State.

According to Dr. Malik, the government of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Executive Governor of Kwara State, is committed to supporting indigenous pharmaceutical companies that have significantly contributed to the State’s economy and engaged local youths productively over the years.

Dr. Malik emphasized that Sam Pharmaceutical Company Limited is one of the oldest pharmaceutical firms in the State, having established a strong reputation, expressing confidence in the Company’s ability to supply quality drugs to hospitals in the State.

According to Dr. Malik, "this moment is historic for Kwara State, as the government collaborates with indigenous pharmaceutical companies. All credit goes to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq". He  stressed that while the government encourages indigenous companies, it will only partner with those that demonstrate commitment to quality assurance in the drugs supplied to hospitals, emphasizing that the health of Kwara residents is the top priority of the government.

In his response, Pharm. Salami Isaac, the Superintendent Pharmacist, who spoke on behalf of Sam Pharmaceutical Company Limited, thanked the Kwara State Government and the management of the Board for the initiative. He noted that the partnership represents a historic moment for the company, which will not be taken for granted, admitting that the support from the government would enhance the company's corporate image. He promised that the company would maintain high quality drugs for its consumers.

Other members of the Board on the tour included, Pharm. Mustapha Jimoh, Director of Pharmacy; Pharm. Lovet Oladele, Project Coordinator of the Kwara State Essential Drugs Programme (EDP), Pharm. Mustapha Hasiat; Mr. Adamu Usman, Press Secretary; and Mr. Moshood Ibrahim, the Admin Officer.

Kwara TESCOM Opens Application Portal for Teaching Jobs

Kwara Govt Okays Conditional Re-opening of Forest for Sawmilers

The Kwara State Government has officially announced the re-opening of forests in the State for sawmilling and forestry related activities with conditions aimed at preserving the forests as crucial natural resources for generations to come.  The announcement was made by the Commissioner for Environment, Hajia Nafisat Musa Buge, as part of the government's position while interacting with officials and key-stakeholders of saw millers, chainsaw operators and plank sellers in the State today.
