KWARA GOVT APPROVES REPAIRS OF TRANSFORMERS IN IGBAJA

In its continued efforts to drive infrastructural development across the State, the Kwara State Government has approved the repair of two 2.5MVA, 33/11KV transformers in Igbaja, Ifelodun Local Government Area of the State.

This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Energy, Engr. AbdulAzeez Kola AbdulGaniy, during an on-the-spot assessment visit to the transformer site in Igbaja. He emphasized the urgency of the repair, noting that the work will be fast-tracked to restore electricity to the area.

"Electricity is essential, and the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, places high priority on the welfare of Kwarans and residents of the State,” the Commissioner stated.

He further explained that the transformers are crucial as they serve Igbaja and 68 other communities in Ifelodun and Irepodun Local Government Areas of the State. Once the repairs are completed, electricity supply will be restored, which will, in turn, enhance commercial activities and improve the quality of lives of residents.

The Commissioner urged the contractors to expedite the repair works, assuring that the Ministry will closely monitor the progress to ensure timely completion and functionality.

In his remarks, the Elese of Igbaja, Alhaji (Dr.) Ahmed Babalola Awuni Arepo III, commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (CON) for his relentless commitment to development and for the many laudable projects across the State.

Also present during the inspection were the Ag. Director of Electrical Engineering, Engr. Fisayo Dada; Engr. Saheed Alabi; and other senior officials of the Ministry.

Kwara Govt Okays Conditional Re-opening of Forest for Sawmilers

The Kwara State Government has officially announced the re-opening of forests in the State for sawmilling and forestry related activities with conditions aimed at preserving the forests as crucial natural resources for generations to come.  The announcement was made by the Commissioner for Environment, Hajia Nafisat Musa Buge, as part of the government's position while interacting with officials and key-stakeholders of saw millers, chainsaw operators and plank sellers in the State today.
