PLANNING COMMISSIONER CHARGES STAFF ON PROACTIVENESS, CALLS ON AGENCIES TO ADHERE TO MANDATES

The Commissioner for Planning and Economic Development, Dr. (Mrs.) Mary Arinde has charged  members of staff of the Ministry to be proactive in order to deliver effective services in the State. 

The Commissioner gave the charge on Monday during her familiarisation tour to offices in the Ministry, stressing the need for the entire staff to work as a team while discharging their duties so as to achieve the set goals as well as enhance productivity.

Dr. Arinde assured them that the challenges facing the discharge of their duties would be addressed in due course and expressed her delight at the activeness and punctuality of the staff, saying there is always room for improvement so as to project the good image of Kwara, the ‘State of Harmony’, through effective and efficient planning and budgeting.

She added that the Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (CON) has put in place accurate budget and proper planning for the development of the State. 

While addressing the Management after the office tour, the Commissioner implored all the Directors to be proactive and ensure that appropriate solutions are provided to challenges facing the staff so as to achieve the desired targets, calling for impactful actions that would improve performance.

Responding, the Director, Personnel, Finance and Supply, Mallam Qudus Sambo, appreciated the Commissioner for taking time to visit all staff in their various offices and promised their unflinching support for positive achievement.

In another development, the Commissioner, Dr.(Mrs.) Mary Arinde has called on the Agencies under the Ministry to work in tandem with the goals and mandate of the present administration, to dish out the dividends of democracy to the downtrodden masses in our communities.
The Commissioner made this call on Monday when the National Social Safety Net Coordinating Office (NASSCO) and the Kwara State Community and Social Development Agency (KWCSDA) jointly paid a courtesy visit to her office.

Speaking on behalf of the Agencies, the General Manager, Kwara State Community and Social Development Agency, Engr. Amamat Haruna, who commended the warm reception, highlighted the aims and targets of the Agencies.
