KWSG CHARGES PRIVATE SCHOOL OWNERS ON COMPLIANCE WITH CRECHE REGISTRATION

The Kwara State Government has charged all private school owners operating crèches or accommodating pupils between the ages of 0-6 to comply with crèche registration procedures in order to enhance childcare standards, reiterating the need to fulfill crèche registration requirements set by the Ministry of Social Development.

The Commissioner for Social Development, Hon. Mariam Nnafatima Imam, PhD, gave the charge recently during an inspection of private crèches in Offa and Ijagbo towns within the Kwara South Senatorial District by the Ministry’s Monitoring Team.

Hon. Mariam urged all schools operating crèches to expedite their registration processes with the Ministry of Social Development to avoid potential sanctions, including the risk of closure.

She emphasized that proper registration ensures up-to-date data on crèches in the state and enhances the government’s ability to monitor and support improved service delivery for children.

The Commissioner stated that the state remains supportive of early childhood care, noting that it is essential that all facilities meet the required standards to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children. 

Hon. Mariam called on operators who are yet to complete their registrations to do so promptly, to avoid any disruptions to their services, encouraging residents to support this effort by choosing registered crèches that adhere to the state’s guidelines thereby ensuring the best care for their little ones.

Kwara State Government Promotes Over 2,000 Civil Servants

  The Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has approved the release of the 2023 promotion letters to eligible civil servants in the state. The Permanent Secretary of the State Civil Service Commission, Hajia Kifayat Jimoh, disclosed this today, March 6, 2025, in Ilorin, the state capital. According to the Permanent Secretary, a total of 2,094 out of 2,122 candidates who sat for the promotion examination were successful. She expressed the Commission's appreciation to the Governor for graciously approving the distribution of the promotion letters and urged the promoted civil servants to rededicate themselves to service in order to enhance the government's objective of effective service delivery to the people of the state.
