KWSG Assures Youths of Capacity Building

Guided by the vision of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON, to provide entrepreneurial skills, employment opportunities and self dependency, Kwara State Ministry of Youth Development has assured youths of its readiness to equip them with necessary push, trainings and capital, to revolutionize agriculture.

The state Commissioner for Youths, Amb. Ndanusa Usman Shehu, stated this during a courtesy visit to Agricultural and Rural Management Training Institute (ARMTI), over the weekend.

Amb. Ndanusa explained the management the need for capacity building initiatives in agribusiness, rural development and entrepreneurship, to create more job opportunities for young Kwarans.

The Commissioner stressed that the state needs the supports of ARMTI for  agripreneurs through skill acquisition and business management training.

According to him, "ARMTI is known for expertise in agricultural training and rural Development,  collaborating with the state government, will help equip youths with practical skills for self-reliance.

In his response, the Executive Director of ARMTI, Dr. Olufemi Oladunni, stressed that the major focus of ARMTI are the youths, adding that the agency trains youths, gives them starter packs and follow them up to ascertain participants are well established.

He assured that ARMTI is ready to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the ministry, in order to formalize the collaboration.

He emphasized the fact that the partnership is aimed at providing young Nigerians with essential trainings, technical supports, and entrepreneurship opportunities, in the agricultural sector.

The Executive Director further stated that the collaboration will create employment opportunities, boost food security and drive rural economic growth.

Those in the entourage of the Commissioner are; Director of Personnel, Finance and Supply of the Ministry, Dr. Mrs Funmilola Adenike Ajide, Director Youths, Alhaji Abdulsalam Akeem and Assistant Director Administration, Mr Sikiru Aminu.

Others are; Coordinator, Kwara North Youths Progressive Movement, Abdulkadir Kawu, Deputy Director of Programmes, Youth-up Global, West Africa region, Mr Abdulkareem Abdulkareem and members of the Uniform Voluntary Youth Organizations (VYO).
