HDGSL Seeks Partnership with KWSG on Sustainable Electric Transportation

In its stride at building a sustainable initiative that would further position its transport system for prosperity, the Kwara State government is in talks with the House of Destiny Global Services Ltd (HDGSL) in collaboration with the Chartered Institute of Management and Leadership (CIML) on integrating their electric tricycle into the State's transportation system.

The Kwara State Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Lafia Aliyu Korasabi, who received the delegates of the Institute in his office yesterday, welcomed the initiative and said it aligns with the visionary goals of His Excellency Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq towards reshaping the State's Transportation sector through initiatives that foster progress, ease of doing business for the transporters and boost the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the State.

Hon. Lafia who equally disclosed that State Government is open to partnership with relevant stakeholders as far as the transport sector is concerned, emphasized on the needs for the Kwara Government to key into partnership with the CIML on electric transportation, for its environmental friendliness, maintenance and considerable  installment method of payment.

The Commissioner who appreciated the institute for choosing Kwara State for partnership and for considering the State for the proposed exhibition of its products, expressed hope that their proposal would be looked into for onward approval of His Excellency.

On their part, the Director Transportation, Planning and Coordination, Engr. Joshua Durotoye and other Directors of the Ministry after thorough examination of the Company's proposal, contended that the product - Electric Tricycle, if considered by the State government, would add a lot of value and prosperity to the State's transport sector as a whole.

The Director, Personnel, Finance and Supply of the Ministry, Hajia Medinat Ajao, in her vote of thanks, appreciated the Institute for the synergy sought from the State, lauded the initiative while urging them to keep to their words.

In his presentation, the Team lead, who is also the Chairman Board of Trustee, Chartered Institute of Management and Leadership, Dr. Steve Longe, congratulated Hon. Lafia for his appointment as the pioneer Commissioner of the Ministry, the position he described as well deserved, based on his unwavering dedication and visionary leadership showcased in his previous offices.

Dr. Longe informed the Ministry that Destiny Global Limited is into Automobile product which works in collaboration with the global Institute - CIML, domiciled in Abuja, with the sole aim of promoting sustainable development and innovation solution on transportation; said the AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq's initiative for improved Transportation in the State inspired its community to approach Kwara for business.

"Your commitment to excellence continues to inspire our community and in line with our mission to promote sustainable development and innovative solutions, we are excited to introduce the electric tricycle initiative, a project spearheaded by the House of Destiny Global Services Ltd, Abuja in collaboration with CIML Nigeria Business School". He disclosed.

The CIML team lead, reiterating the need for the Government to embrace the initiative, said accepting electric tricycle would not only serve as a step forward in transitioning from the old method to a more globally aligned means of transportation that would go a long way in reducing the effect of climate change, create empowerments opportunities, economic catalyst and enhancement of urban mobility.

Speaking further on some of the values of the electric driven tricycle, Dr. Steve maintained that it will promote environmental sustainability, reduce emission, proffer efficient and affordable options, easier and faster charging, durability of usage for  improved quality of life for residents in the State.

He however, noted that the business proposal requires no capital commitment from the State Government, but only has the crucial role to play in the coordination,  capturing process, formal approval and implementation of the initiative to gain the full acceptance of the citizens.

Also in the meeting, were, the Director Mechanical Services, Engr. Olayinka Busari; Director, Rail, Road and Water Ways, Engr. Solomon Oyinloye, other management staff of the Ministry and members of the Institute.
