2025 EID-UL-FITRI CELEBRATIONS: KWARTMA DEPLOYS PERSONNEL FOR HITCH-FREE TRAFFIC.

The Kwara State Road Traffic Management Authority (KWARTMA) has deployed its officers and men to strategic areas in Kwara State to ensure free flow of traffic for this year Eid Celebrations.

In a statement made from the office of the Ag. Chief Executive Officer, Engr.Bamidele Michael, the Eid ul Fitr marks the end of Ramadan,the Islamic Holy month of fasting and prayer. It is one of the largest and most important celebrations in the Islamic calendar".

 In Ilorin the state  capital, movement is expected to increase during this period thus traffic will be specifically managed to ease the movement of people across the metropolis.
 Meanwhile, strategic locations including, Eyenkorin, Oko-olowo, Ganmon and Zango will also be manned by special operations unit of the Authority to complement the efforts of Zonal operatives.

The Authority has deployed enough personnel to control traffic and enforce traffic regulations for effective human and vehicular movement,the deployment extends to surveillance, rescue and evacuation on the highway as well as clearing of road encroachment.

In addition, Jimba-oja, Ajase, Ijagbo and Offa axis will also be taken into cognizance by KWARTMA Offa Area office for motorists travelling along  that route. 

Engr. Bamidele re-affirmed the Authority's commitment to working in synergy with other sister security agencies including the Armed forces and other paramilitary agencies to ensure hitch-free movement and safety before, during and after the Eid celebration.

The Authority rejoices with the Governor of Kwara State,His Excellency Mallam Abdurahman Abdulrasaq, the  Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Council of Emirs, Obas and Chiefs, Alhaji. (Dr.) Ibrahim Zulu Gambari and  all Muslims across the globe for the successful completion of 2025 Ramadan. 

All road users are therefore implored to embrace  best safety practices by obeying  traffic regulations,avoid excessive speeding, overloading, texting, making or receiving calls while driving to arrive safe.

Kwara State Government Promotes Over 2,000 Civil Servants

  The Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has approved the release of the 2023 promotion letters to eligible civil servants in the state. The Permanent Secretary of the State Civil Service Commission, Hajia Kifayat Jimoh, disclosed this today, March 6, 2025, in Ilorin, the state capital. According to the Permanent Secretary, a total of 2,094 out of 2,122 candidates who sat for the promotion examination were successful. She expressed the Commission's appreciation to the Governor for graciously approving the distribution of the promotion letters and urged the promoted civil servants to rededicate themselves to service in order to enhance the government's objective of effective service delivery to the people of the state.
