KWSG PROMISES PROMPT DELIVERY OF SOBI WATERWORKS REHABILITATION PROJECT
The Kwara State Government has promised to ensure that the Sobi Waterworks rehabilitation project is delivered promptly and called on the Contractor, Hydro Gold Limited, Engr. Adegboyega Durojaye, to speed up work on the project, noting that this will also prevent damages that could be caused in the forthcoming rainy season if the project is not completed in time.
The State Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Usman Yunusa Lade, made the promise today while carrying out an on-the-spot assessment of the project.
The Commissioner who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Christiana Omolola Asonibare, stressed that it has become necessary to complete the rehabilitation in time considering the fact that majority of the people depend on the facility as the only means of potable water supply.
Responding, the Contractor, Hydro Gold Limited, Engr. Adegboyega Durojaye, who was represented by the Project Manager, Engr. Louis Onome Obukohwo, promised to complete the work at foundation treatment site in a week, explaining that the foundation treatment has to be properly and strongly done in order to avoid reoccurrence of the previous flood disaster that caused serious damage to the facility.
The Contractor added that the refilling of the Waterworks entrance washed away by the flood will also take a week, pointing out that these processes will ensure that the facility is well protected against flood or any eventuality.
He pledged to deliver a quality project within the specified period in tandem with the contract agreement.
