KWARA STATE GOVERNMENT PLEDGES SUPPORT TO NIGERIAN CORRECTIONAL SERVICE
The Kwara State Government has pledged its continuous support to the State Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service.
The Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Mamman Saba Jibril gave the assurance today while receiving the newly posted State Controller of the, Mr Famuwagun Oyediran who paid him a courtesy call.
He appreciated the mutual working relationship between the State Government and the State Authority of the State Command of the Correctional Service assuring that the government would not renege in its support and assistance to ease its operations in the State.
Prof. Jibril also promised that the Government would look into the requests made by the Command Boss to enhance efficient service delivery in the State.
The State Controller of the NCS,in his address pleaded that the State Government should urgently consider the relocation of the Custodial Centre located at Oke -Kura in the state capital to a vast land that could adequately take care of its services.
Oyediran complained that the present location has been over populated which has resulted in a precarious situation threatening the health condition of the inmates.
He acknowledged the support of the present Administration in the State and applauded the drilling of bore holes at the Oke Kura Custodial Centre by the State Government, which has significantly relieved them of the burden of water provision.
