Kwara Govt Condoles Family of Hafsat Lawal


The Kwara State Government has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late "Hafsat Lawal" who was gruesomely murdered over the weekend.

The Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr. (Mrs.) Mary Arinde, who visited the family house of Hafsat Lawal at Adebalu Compound of Oju-Ekun Sarumi Street, Ilorin, Kwara State, expressed shock over the ugly incident.

Dr. Arinde expressed sympathy on behalf of the State Government over the gruesome killing of Hafsat Lawal, a graduate of the Department of Chemistry/Integrated Science from the Kwara State College of Education, (KWCOED), Ilorin by one Abdulrahman Bello, describing the incident as ‘’unfortunate, alien and a regrettable act of wickedness.”

The Commissioner said the state government would ensure justice for the victim while noting that, “it has become pertinent for parents, guardians, as well as people in the neighbourhood to remain vigilant to happenings around them, especially ensuring that their children and wards are in the company of people of impeccable character who are from well known family background’’.

In his words of exhortation, the Provost of the Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin, Dr. Ayinde Shehu Jawondo prayed God Almighty to comfort the family of the deceased.
