KW-HMB Pledges Improved Healthcare for Afon Community

The Kwara State Hospital Management Board (KW-HMB) has again reiterated its commitment to improved healthcare for the people of Kwara State.

The Executive Secretary of the Board, Dr. Abdulraheem Malik stated this at the Palace of the Daudu of Afon, Alhaji Kolapo Anafi Balogun during a courtesy visit.

Dr. Malik explained that  the Board would synergize with the community to form a health committee in the area, which will be saddled with the responsibility of informing the Board on issues requiring prompt response.

Dr. Malik said that the visit to the Daudu of Afon was born out of the Board's determination to do a peer review with the community on how to improve on the delivery of quality health care to the people.

"The State government has committed a lot of resources to your hospital to improve service delivery to the good people of Afon and its surrounding communities. Help us take very good care of all the equipments so that they can stand the test of time", Dr. Malik explained.

In his response, the Daudu of Afon appreciated the Executive Secretary and his entourage for the visit and expressed satisfaction with the renovation of the Afon General Hospital, which has been providing health care services to the people of Afon and its environs. He then urged the Board to continue to support and maintain the standard of the hospital.

Recall, that Governor  AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq had recently approved the entire renovation and supply of equipment to the hospital.

The Board, thereafter, conducted a thorough inspection of the hospital and all the equipment supplied, which included oxygen concentrators, ultrasound machines, theatre lamps, incubators, and 5kva solar panels.

Others included a hematocrit centrifuge, blood bank refrigerator, theatre and delivery beds, among others.

Kwara to employ 1,800 new senior class teachers
