IVTEC Online Registration Closes, Resumes

Kwara State Government in collaboration with International Vocational, Technical and Entrepreneurship College (IVTEC), Ajase Ipo, hereby announces the closure of the Youth Empowerment and Employment Generation Scheme (YEEGS ) registration portal, for the batch 8 admission and resumption commences immediately.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Rector of the College Engr. Dr. Yaru Salihu, in his office, and made available to the press.

In the press statement, the Rector noted that the turn out for the registration was impressive and overwhelming, as over four thousand (4000) Youths applied online for admission, across the sixteen (16) Local Governmnts Areas of the  State before the close of the registration.  

In view of this, the statement disclosed that only 200 Scholarships slots are available for this batch, adding that other applicants yet to be considered for the scheme and wish to embark on self-sponsorship are advised to contact the College for further details, but successful applicants will be communicated via SMS .

"The training commences from today, Monday 17th February. Candidates are therefore expected  to resume on IVTEC Ajase Ipo Campus, with immediate effect. 

Dr, Yaru said the attention of the college has been drawn to a message going round online platforms saying that “Kwarans are directed to forward their passport photographs and account number to IVTEC link” He described the message as a deliberate attempt to misinform the public adding that the account details and passport photographs are just part of the requisites to complete filling and submission of the form.

He however expressed appreciation to the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq for his unwavering efforts at combating Youths unemployment, porverty and idleness in the State.

Dr. Salihu further appeal to the State Government to increase the quota to be sponsored yearly considering the large turnout of applicants and the enthusiasm of Kwara youths to be trained in various trades available in the College

Finally, the Rector also appeal to Philanthropists, Politicians, Industrialist, Corporate Organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and all well-meaning individuals to leverage on the State Government’s gesture by sponsoring youths in various trades at IVTEC in order to reduce unemployment and social vices among our youths.
