CAILS Secures 100% Success in NBTE Accreditation Exercise
The Kwara State College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies (CAILS) has achieved a significant milestone by securing full accreditation and approval for all six National Diploma (ND) programs presented to the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) for accreditation and resource verification.
The Acting Provost of the College, Dr. Sa’ad Hadi, expressed profound gratitude to all stakeholders who contributed to this remarkable achievement. He extended special appreciation to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, for his unwavering support and the accreditation grant that made this success possible.
The Honourable Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr. (Mrs.) Mary Ronke Arinde, was also commended for her continuous guidance.
Dr. Hadi further extended heartfelt appreciation to the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Is-haq Oloyede, for his invaluable role in facilitating the onboarding of ND Law and ND Islamic and Civil Law under the NBTE regulatory framework. His dedication and efforts were instrumental in securing approval for these pioneering programs, which mark a historic achievement for CAILS and the entire education sector.
According to the accreditation report, two programs—ND Accounting and ND Computer Science—were granted full accreditation for five years, while four others—ND Mass Communication, ND Library and Information Science, ND Law, and ND Sharia and Civil Law—received interim accreditation, allowing them to commence operations with full accreditation expected in two years.
Notably, CAILS made history as the first institution in Nigeria to receive NBTE approval for ND Law and ND Islamic and Civil Law programs. This landmark achievement positions the College as a pioneer in legal and Islamic education under the NBTE framework.
Dr. Hadi emphasized that this success was a collective effort, attributing it to the dedication of management members, staff, students, and stakeholders. He reaffirmed the College’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and the advancement of technical and vocational education in Nigeria.
The Acting Provost concluded by praying for continued growth and development, expressing confidence that CAILS would reach even greater heights in the future.
