The State Coordinator of the Kwara Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ) Project, Engr. Dr. Busari Toyin Isiaka, has disclosed that the participation of Kwara in the implementation of the Agro-Industrial project was informed by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq's ingenuity for economic prosperity and resolve to turning the State around.

The Coordinator made this submission while speaking during a five-day workshop themed "SAPZ-1 Programme 2025 Strategic Implementation Workshop" held at the Green Legacy Resort, Abeokuta, Ogun State between 6th and 10th of January, 2025.

Busari explained that the workshop was organized to fast-track the implementation of the project through ensuring efficient procurement to improve disbursement for successful delivery of the project objectives.

While rolling out the journey of the project so far in Kwara, the Coordinator said the State Government has provided a conducive environment like the payment of counterpart fund and provision of necessary support for effective implementation of the project to unlock myriad opportunities for Kwarans.

The Coordinator then applauded the Governor's discretion towards economic creativity, which, he noted, would turn around the developmental indices of the State.

Earlier in his remark, the National Coordinator, Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones, Dr. Kabir Yusuf, gave the assurance that the commitment of the stakeholders would lead to the actualisation of the goals envisioned for the programme.

While reminding the stakeholders of their respective responsibilities, Dr. Yusuf said implementation of the SAPZ would transform the nation.

High points of the event included the presentation of the annual work plan, budget and implementation plans of the participating states, among others.

The participants were admonished to take action on the recommended tips to speed up implementation of the project in various participating states.

The event came to a close with a dinner, which had in attendance both the Ogun State Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr Bolu Owotowo;  Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mr Olaolu Olabimtan; and other personalities.
