KWSG REITERATES COMMITMENT TO ENERGY SECTOR

The Kwara State Government has reiterated its commitment to enhancing the energy sector of the state, while also encouraging renewable energy to increase security of life and property.

The Kwara State Commissioner for Energy, Engr. AbdulAzeez Kola AbdulGaniy, who stated this today during the fourth-quarter Inter-Ministerial Press Briefing held at the conference room of Ministry of Finance, Ilorin, noted that these efforts are aimed at improving the living standard of Kwarans and boost economic development across the state.

Engr. AbdulGaniy said, "more communities now have access to improved power supply facilities, including the provision and installation of transformers and other electrical materials in several communities. These communities include: Tepatan Oke, Gata Community and Magaji Fate Community. This development has helped several businesses and industries thrive."

He further added that, "others include: procurement and installation of transformers to Lola Surulere, Akerebiata and Alafia Tayo community behind Olam Farm, Ogbondoroko, among others.”

The Commissioner disclosed that solar panels, inverters, and batteries were installed at Ilu Ofiada community, Asa Local Government Area, 2 units off grid hybrid solar inverter were also installed for two Federal High Court Judges’ Quarters in Ilorin. 

“Others include: procurement and installation of 1No 400/5amps prepaid meter for Kwara State Council for Arts and Culture, Ilorin, relocation of overhead line in front of Government House and installation of already allocated 500KVA transformer at Reke Community”, Engr. AbdulGaniy said.

While commending the Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his laudable efforts in the energy sector, the Commissioner stressed that the Governor’s sole aim is to create meaningful livelihood and sustainable environment for residents in Kwara State.
