KWSG PROVIDES FREE TRANSPORT PALLIATIVE FOR UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

In a bid to ease the burden of transportation costs on returning students of Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete and University of Ilorin, Ilorin (UNILORIN), the Kwara State Government has provided extra buses as free transport palliative for the students, who are returning after Christmas and New Year holidays.

The free transport palliative is meant to cater for all registered students of KWASU and UNILORIN, who are returning to their respective campuses. The buses are stationed at Queen Elizabeth School at General (Taiwo) and Soludero Park at the Post Office, Ilorin.

The Commissioner for Business, Innovation and Technology, Hon.  Damilola Yusuf Adelodun disclosed this today, in her office.

The Commissioner noted that the State government is committed to supporting the educational pursuits of its citizens, describing the free transport palliative as a demonstration of its commitment.

Hon. Damilola advised the returning students to take advantage of this opportunity and report to their respective campuses on time, adding that this is a special measure, specifically put in place for them.

 • Applicants to Report at Their Local Government Areas on September 5 The Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (KWSUBEB) wishes to inform the general public that all applicants for its community-based recruitment exercise are required to report to their respective Local Government Areas on Thursday, September 5th, 2024, by 9:00 AM prompt. Desist from Lifting Students to Coaching Centers- KWSG

Kwara State Government has sounded serious warnings to proprietors of coaching centers across the state, to henceforth desist from lifting students from various schools, under the pretext of preparing them for Seniors Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE)or be ready to face the full wrath of law. The Executive Director, Agency for Mass Education, Mallam Saka Yusuf, stated this during a meeting with Executive members, Association of Private Coaching Centers of Nigeria (ASSOPCON) held in his office.  Mallam Saka expressed displeasure that, despite sensitization and advocacy efforts by the Agency, many coaching centers still fail to comply with regulations, thereby lifting students particularly from Junior Secondary School 3, Senior Secondary 1, and Senior Secondary 2 which could eventually derail or jeopardize their future.  He therefore warned perpetrators of such acts to desist forthwith or be ready to face the dire consequences of their actions.
