KWSG INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR PRIVATE WASTE MANAGEMENT SERVICES

The Kwara State Government through the Ministry of Environment hereby call on suitably qualified Commercial (Private) waste management organization of repute, and the general public to apply for consideration and engagement for collection of waste from households, shops and companies in the state. 

Successful applicants shall be required to liaise with Kwara State Ministry of Environment and her agencies and be assigned specific area of coverage for collection of waste upon payment of an approved affordable amount from each of the households, shops and companies in the designated area for onward conveyance to the Government approved dump sites. 

 *ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS* 

Interested, reputable, and competent consultants/service providers or companies are required to possess the following qualifications.

i. Duly Incorporated by the Corporate Affairs Commission ( CAC)

ii. Financially capable to recruit, manage, and sustain services of relevant staff through submission of reference letter from a reputable commercial Bank in Nigeria.

iii. Duly registered with Kwara State Ministry of Environment.

iv. Registered with relevant professional bodies. 

v. Possession of relevant Contemporary Waste Management Vehicles/Trucks that can handle solid or liquid, or both, based on the nature of desired service option 

vi. Submit a detailed Waste Management Work-Plan for handling waste in designated areas with a population of at least 500,000 people.

vii. Possession of key personnel with requisite knowledge and experience in waste management.

viii. Propose an amount to be collected from households, shops, and companies and an amount to be remitted to the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service. (KWIRS).

 *SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION.* 

Prospective organizations willing to provide WASTE MANAGEMENT services to the people of Kwara State through the Ministry of Environment are therefore required to apply by submitting relevant documents in a sealed envelope clearly marked as  ' *APPLICATION AS COMMERCIAL (PRIVATE) WASTE MANAGEMENT ORGANIZATION '* not later than 12noon on Monday 10th February, 2025 addressed to:

 *THE HONOURABLE COMMISSIONER, KWARA STATE MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT, ILORIN* 

 

 *GENERAL INFORMATION* 

i. All application must be in English Language and signed by an official authorized by the Government;

ii. Only companies that meets the Eligibility requirements will be officially contacted and al other unapproved request shall not be officially contacted.

iii. Recall that all previous private/commercial waste compaines undertaking similar tasks were disengaged on 31st December, 2024 following the expiration of their period of engagement through the Kwara State Environmental Protection Agency (KWEPA).
