MIREMCO Sought Collaboration With KWSG
Kwara State Government has assured relevant stakeholders in mining business and solid Minerals Sector of enabling environment and enhanced collaboration, in the overall interest of the State.
The State Commissioner for Solid Minerals, Dr Afeez Abolore Alabi gave this assurance during the week, while receiving members of Mineral Resources and Environment Management Committee (MIREMCO), who paid him a courtesy visit in his office.

Alabi therefore charged relevant stakeholders in mining practices and other solid minerals related activities, of robust collaboration, that would further enhance their business.
In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Solid Minerals, TPL Yinka Olokooba assured the visiting team of government's supports and readiness to take mining activities to greater heights.
The team lead, Committee on MIREMCO who is also a Mines Officer, Engr Lamidi Maruf highlighted numerous benefits of identifying with the ministry, one of which is to propel their work for effective growth of the community and Kwarans at large.
He appealed to the Commissioner to facilitate government presence to rural areas where mining activities takes place, which he said could generate revenue for the State.
Earlier, the Director of Geological Services, Solid Minerals Ministry, Mr kunle Adimula also reiterated ministry's readiness to patner with Agencies willing work in synergy with the state government, for effective minning and other solid minerals activities.
