KWSG VALIDATES 2023 ANRiN REPORT ON MAPPING OF PARTNERS' INTERVENTIONS ON NUTRITION

The Kwara State Government, through the State Committee on Food and Nutrition, has validated year 2023 Report on Partners' Interventions on nutrition geared towards eradicating malnutrition in the State.


The report was validated recently by the Acting Chairman, State Committee on Food and Nutrition (SCFN), Alhaji Surajudeen Kayode Alimi, who doubles as the State Director, Planning Directorate, Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and all members of the SCFN, at the Conference Room of Ministry of Finance, Ilorin.


Alhaji Alimi stressed that the annual report on nutrition activities helps the State Government and Partners to know their performances and reveals the area of adjustments.


He further added that the report presents the nutrition interventions of various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) involved in nutrition in accordance with the Multi-Sectoral Plan of Action for Food and Nutrition (MSPAN).


While presenting the report, the Kwara State Project Manager, Accelerating Nutrition Results in Nigeria (ANRiN), Dr. Habeeb Lawal, stated that the State government, in collaboration with ANRiN and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) have been able to tackle malnutrition to a certain level, aiming at no trace of malnutrition in the State.

Dr. Lawal said the report is to avoid duplication of efforts, while at the same time, to prevent wastage of resources, adding that it provides an evidence-based data on allocated resources and helps the State and the Partners to know how much has been invested on nutrition throughout the year.


“It is an accurate and well detailed explanation on allocation and resources spent in the 2023 Nutrition budget which has helped in achieving the set goals”, he noted.


The Project Manager further revealed that ANRiN has extended its partnership with the State government in order to further curb malnutrition and ensure sustainability.

 

Dr. Habeeb applauded the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for following up all the nutrition activities and for providing undiluted support as and when due, commending members of the SCFN for the efforts made in carrying out their duties diligently and for joining hands with the State government to end the menace of Malnutrition in Kwara State.

KWASRRA COMMENCES LOCAL GOVERNMENT RESIDENTS REGISTRATION

The Kwara State Residents Registration Agency has commenced registration for the staff of Local Government Areas and farmers across the 16 Local Government Areas of Kwara State. The second phase of the registration exercise is focused on the registration of the members of Staff of the Local Government Areas (LGA), Local Government Education Authority ( LGEA), Teaching Service Commission ( TESCOM) and farmers across the State.
