KWSG Reiterates Expected Benefits from KWASU Satellite Compuses
The Kwara State Government has reiterated the benefits expected from the just established Kwara State University (KWASU) satellite campuses in Osi and Ilesha-Baruba, respectively.
The Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr Mary Arinde made this known today in a radio programme tagged: "e bawa da si" at Diamond 88.7 Fm, along Yidi Road, Ilorin.
According to her, "the State Government is more focused on providing quality education to citizens in very conducive environments." Adding that the State Government is determined to improve educational structures in the State, which has led to the movement of two faculties to the new KWASU Campuses in Osi and Ilesha Baruba.
She said Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON has committed lots of resources to the KWASU satellite campuses, revealing that activities have commenced at the Osi campus for the Faculty of Environmental Sciences, which would be commissioned soon.
She therefore, applauded the State Governor for the focus and determination to boast the economic activities of the beneficiary senatorial districts.
Dr. Mary explained that the new Kwara State University of Education (KWASUED ) is mainly for educational courses, established to certify qualified graduates in education only.
While attending to a phone-in question, she availed the public of drug test programme designed for all newly admitted students, which will be flagged-off tomorrow at the Kwara State University Malete.
She said, the programme was aimed at discouraging the menace of drug abuse and illicit drug trafficking among students.
