Kwara Govt Partners NIS, Others for Ease of Doing Business

The Kwara State Government has assured the Nigeria Institute of Surveyors and other land related associations of its readiness to partner with them for ease of doing business in the State. 


The Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Geographic Information Service, Esv Abdulkareem Babatunde Sulyman gave the assurance in Ilorin while receiving the Nigeria Institute of Surveyors (NIS) and Private Practicing Surveyors of Nigeria (APPSN) in his  office. 


Esv Sulyman noted that  the Agency is very much ready to partner with any association willing to cooperate and support the policy thrust of the State Government in making life meaningful for all Kwarans.


He advised that professionals handling land administration in the State should be duly consulted in matters relating to surveying, adding that non adherence to the ethics of the profession will affect the operations of the Agency and might lead to court injunctions.


Suleiman, therefore, urged the associations to do things accordingly and always approach the Agency to ascertain the status of survey of their lands, especially, during the ongoing transformation to automation system. While assuring the Association of the  Agency's support as they are partners in progress he promised to continue to run an open door policy for the betterment of all.


The Executive Chairman, therefore, advised that all requests be forwarded to his office for quick action and onward transmission to His Exellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for approval. 


In his contributions, the State Surveyor General, Surv. Afolayan Timothy Adeyemi and Director, Physical Planning and Development Control,Tpl Abdulhakeem Abdulsalam urged the association to always consider the procedures of survey approval before issuing building approvals. He advised that the Office of the Surveyor General should always be consulted for professional advice on land matters. 


Earlier the Chairman of the Association of Nigeria Institute of Surveyors, Kwara State Chapter, Surveyor Adewale Lere disclosed that their visit was to familiarize with the Agency and sought for synergy and cooperation in the area of survey to  avoid land disputes.
