Kwara Governor Joins Family, Dignitaries at Fidau Prayer for Late Elder Statesman

The Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Alhaji Oba Sulaiman, during the Fidau prayer held in honour of the late statesman. 


Governor AbdulRazaq who was represented by the State's Commissioner for Youths Development, Amb. Shehu Usman Ndanusa, described the late Alh.Oba Sulaiman as a pillar of the community, whose contributions to the development of Kwara State and Nigeria at large would be remembered for generations. 


He extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, urging them to find solace in the legacies of faith, service, and leadership left behind by the deceased.


"The late Alhaji Oba Sulaiman was not just a leader but a father to many. His life epitomized selflessness, humility, and a commitment to the common good. His passing is a great loss, not just to his family, but to all of us in Kwara State," the Governor said.


The Fidau prayer, an Islamic rite held to seek Allah’s forgiveness for the deceased, was led by prominent clerics, including the Imam Gambari of Ilorin, Sheikh Suleiman Abdulazeez, who offered prayers for the repose of the elder statesman’s soul. In their sermons, the Islamic clerics emphasized the importance of leading a life of integrity and service to humanity, as exemplified by the deceased.


Other dignitaries in attendance included the Ajanasi Agba of Ilorin, Dr. Yusuf Bature,  Madami of Lafiagi, Alh. Manzuma Aliyu Kpotun, House of representative member representing Edu, Patigi, Moro Federal constituency, Hon. Dr. Ahmed Saaba, among others.
