FINANCE COMMISSIONER ATTENDS RETIREMENT CEREMONY OF STAFF OF ACCOUNTANT GENERAL’S OFFICE

The Commissioner for Finance, Dr. Hauwa Nuru has attended the retirement ceremony of dedicated staff members from the Accountant General's Office. The event was organized by the Association of Controllers of Finance and Accounts (CFA) in the State.


In her goodwill message, Dr. Nuru praised the collaborative spirit between the Ministry of Finance and the Accountant General's Office, which has contributed to numerous achievements. She highlighted the present administration's commitment to prioritizing the well-being of its workers and the public, reinforcing its dedication to fostering economic growth and prosperity in Kwara State.


Dr. Nuru reaffirmed Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq's unwavering commitment to the welfare of public servants and citizens as part of a broader vision for sustainable development and economic stability. She lauded His Excellency's leadership, noting that innovations such as the adoption of IPSAS and the timely payment of salaries have been instrumental in mitigating the impact of the current economic realities in a sustainable manner.


She encouraged staff to emulate the dedication of the retirees and assured them of the administration's continuous support in creating a conducive working environment.


In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Mallam Folorunsho Abdulrasaq, commended the CFA and the retirees for their outstanding dedication, describing their contributions as pivotal to the success of the Accountant General's Office. He emphasized that the retirees' professionalism and work ethics should serve as a benchmark for others.


Mallam Abdulrasaq also advised accounting officers to maintain a balance between their professional and social lives to reduce stress and improve productivity, ultimately enhancing service delivery.


The State Accountant General, Mallam Abdulganiyu Sani, represented by the Deputy Accountant General, Mr. Adebayo Oyewole, reflected on the accomplishments of the Accountant General's Office. He acknowledged the challenges faced in navigating complex financial regulations and adapting to evolving technology, while celebrating the team's ability to transform these challenges into opportunities for growth and innovation.


Mallam Sani lauded the hard work and resilience of the team, emphasizing their dedication to upholding the highest standards of financial management and accountability. He commended the retirees for their significant contributions to the State's financial system and the Civil Service.

KWASRRA COMMENCES LOCAL GOVERNMENT RESIDENTS REGISTRATION

The Kwara State Residents Registration Agency has commenced registration for the staff of Local Government Areas and farmers across the 16 Local Government Areas of Kwara State. The second phase of the registration exercise is focused on the registration of the members of Staff of the Local Government Areas (LGA), Local Government Education Authority ( LGEA), Teaching Service Commission ( TESCOM) and farmers across the State.
