EHO : KWSG Calls for Improved Work Efforts

The Kwara State Government has called for improved work efforts from Environmental Health Officers (EHO), to achieve a greener and healthier environment for Kwara residents.


The State Commissioner for Environment, Hajia Nofisat Musa Buge made this call at the send off ceremony, organized by the Environmental Health Organization Association of Nigeria(EHOAN), held at Ministry of Health Cooperative Hall, Ilorin.


The Commissioner maintained that the AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq led administration is committed to ensuring that equipment and facilities needed to facilitate work in order to makes it easier for the EHO in safeguarding the environment, for future generation.


The Honourable Commissioner who was represented at the event by Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr. Abubakar Ayinla commended the State Government for initiating policies, which has inspired countless individuals, organization and communities to join hands in protecting the environment.


"Kwara State has been identified as one of the waste-free and healthy State, because we have Environmental Health Officers who are passionate and willing to work effortlessly and Government in turn has  assigned the best hands to do the work professionally". He said


Buge also commended Officers who are happy carrying out their duty diligently, given their very best to achieving a healthier environment.


He congratulated the retirees for being dedicated to duties while in service, therefore wished them a fruitful and restful retirement, filled with sound health and prosperity.


"your retirement is  like reaping what you have invested. I pray you enjoy every bit of it and may the  Association continue to wax stronger in unity".


In his comments, Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duty, Honourable Abdulrasak Jiddah  reiterated Government's commitment to achieving a healthy environment, therefore commending Governor AbdulRazaq's  leadership style and efforts towards a more greener, healthier and sustainable tomorrow 


He also congratulated the retirees, wishing them happy retirement, advising those in service to keep up the good work, to continually achieve a healthy environment.


The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mallam Rafiu Ajakaye felicitated with the retirees for being selfless and dedicated to the State's service as well as their communities, to ensure healthy living of the people.


The CPS who was represented by his Deputy, Mr. Moshood Agboola stated that their impact will be felt,  but the retirement will also pave way for others to showcase their skills.


Earlier, the Chairman,  Environmental Health Organization Association of Nigeria (EHOAN), Sanitarian Tijani Ayinde Sharafa appreciated the dignitaries who honoured the invitation to grace the occasion, which has made the event more colorful.


Most importantly, Mr Sharafa gave kudos to the present administration, for its continued supports and efforts  through positive engagement of relevant stakeholders to achieve the desired set goals, therefore prayed  for God's blessings on the retiries, adding that, the Almighty will  always meet them at the very points of their needs.


Speaking on behalf of the celebrants, Comrade Towoju Kolawole appreciated Governor AbdulRazaq, for the regular payment of pension, particularly setting aside funds for payment of gratuities on a monthly basis.


He pleaded with the Government to procreate more Environmental Health Officers to  replace the retired leaders who have given their best to the service.


Those in attendance were; Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Mrs Funke Shokoya, the Director, Forestry, Ministry of Environment, Mr Babatunde Idris and others.
