Kwara Urban Renewal to Include all Parts, Govt Assures

The Kwara State Government has assured citizens that every part of the State will be included in the urban renewal drive presently ongoing across the nooks and crannies of the State. 


The State Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo, stated this today during a radio programme - Diamond FM’s breakfast show, where he assured residents that under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq's leadership, every part of Kwara will benefit from Infrastructural upgrades aimed at re-establishing the State as a top destination for industrialization and development.  


The Commissioner highlighted the administration’s approach as holistic, ensuring that developmental projects are comprehensive and far-reaching. "We can’t fix all roads at once," Olododo noted, "but the commitment is there, and step by step, every community will see progress." He referred to the recent launch of the 221.87 km of rural roads, a project designed to improve access to under-served areas and support the State's broader industrial ambitions.  


Olododo also disclosed that Governor AbdulRazaq has facilitated ongoing work on an additional 280 km of road projects across the State through the Federal Government. "These efforts are part of a broader strategy to not only enhance connectivity but to also boost industrial and economic growth across Kwara," he explained.  


In response to the impact of subsidy removal on transportation, the Commissioner announced that the government has procured 100 electric motorcycles as part of a pilot program to ease mobility challenges. He added that Kwara is also actively collaborating with the Presidential Initiative Committee on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) to secure CNG buses and conversion assistance to further expand  sustainable and affordable transportation options for residents.  


Olododo also called on citizens to take responsibility for protecting the infrastructure being provided, emphasizing that community ownership is essential to ensure the projects serve their purpose for years to come.  


Closing on an optimistic note, Olododo said, "With Governor AbdulRazaq’s vision, we are not just fixing roads; we are paving the way for a brighter, more prosperous future for every Kwara citizen. Together, we can safeguard these projects and build a State that works for all,"he said.

KWASRRA COMMENCES LOCAL GOVERNMENT RESIDENTS REGISTRATION

The Kwara State Residents Registration Agency has commenced registration for the staff of Local Government Areas and farmers across the 16 Local Government Areas of Kwara State. The second phase of the registration exercise is focused on the registration of the members of Staff of the Local Government Areas (LGA), Local Government Education Authority ( LGEA), Teaching Service Commission ( TESCOM) and farmers across the State.
