Kwara L-PRES Conducts Stepdown Training For Enumerators on KPI
The Kwara State Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES) today conducted a one-day stepdown training for enumerators on project Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) towards achieving the project development objective.
The training which was held at the Project Coordination Office in Ilorin, is a follow up to the directive of the National Project Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist after a virtual meeting with all the six pioneer states that have started implementation for a year to conduct a survey on indicators by administering questionnaires.
Enumerating the indicators expected to work on, the State Project Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, Mrs. Kudirat Zubair-Oyewo identified some of the indicators as Carcass weights, Milk yield, Direct project beneficiaries disaggregated by sex, incidents of conflict based on percentage, among other indicators as contained in the Project Appraisal Document (PAD).
Mrs. Zubair-Oyewo further explained that the enumerators are expected to go to the field where the projects were being implemented, which include infrastructure and beneficiaries trained in Good Animal Husbandry Practices (GAHP), and administered the questionnaire to them in order to know the impacts made by the project.
She noted that most of the beneficiaries were not literate and advised them to relate with them in the language they understood, urging them to discharge the assignment without bias so as to ensure accurate and verifiable data at the end of the exercise.
Responding, the Zonal Manager, Kwara State Agricultural Development Agency (KWADP), Mrs. Ganiyat Ajepe, who is also one of the participants at the programme, admitted that the training is an eye opener to performance indicators in livestock farming and expressed her commitment to make the exercise a huge success.
Also speaking, Mr. Issa Mohammed, An Assistant Chief Extension Officer at KWADP said the training had equipped the participants on how to take the database of beneficiaries of the L-PRES Project that would indicate the level of the progress made in the livestock sector of the State.
