The Nutrition Focal Person, Ilorin West Local Government Area, Hajia Aisha Apata has called for exclusive breastfeeding, emphasizing its crucial role in the healthy development of infants and their diets. 


Hajia Apata made this call yesterday in another episode of “Adequate Nutrition and Healthy Living” on Radio Kwara Midland 99.1 FM, sponsored by Kwara State Ministry of Communication.


The Nutrition Focal Person explained that exclusive breastfeeding not only nourishes babies but also strengthens their immune systems, while encouraging mothers to embrace this practice to ensure their children receive the best possible start in life.


Hajia Apata urged parents to incorporate a variety of vegetables and fruits into their diets, saying “An adequate diet rich in vegetables and fruits is essential for everyone, regardless of age.” 


She commended the Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for his efforts in establishing Local Government Committee on Food and Nutrition in each of the sixteen Local Government Areas. 


“The governor’s initiative is a vital step toward improving the nutritional landscape in Kwara and I appreciate his commitment to public health”, the Nutrition Focal Person added.


Addressing the challenges faced by individuals with hypertension, Hajia Apata offered practical dietary advice and recommended that they reduce salt intake and avoid coffee and fatty foods, noting that “Making small changes in our eating habits can lead to significant health improvements.”

KWASRRA COMMENCES LOCAL GOVERNMENT RESIDENTS REGISTRATION

The Kwara State Residents Registration Agency has commenced registration for the staff of Local Government Areas and farmers across the 16 Local Government Areas of Kwara State. The second phase of the registration exercise is focused on the registration of the members of Staff of the Local Government Areas (LGA), Local Government Education Authority ( LGEA), Teaching Service Commission ( TESCOM) and farmers across the State.
