NUTRITIONIST ADVOCATES ADEQUATE DIET FOR HEALTHY LIVING

To address the rising concerns about malnutrition and promote healthy living among Kwarans, the State Nutrition Community Mobilization Officer, Mrs. Mariam Oyinlola Ahmed has advocated for the adoption of adequate diets to ensure proper nutrition.

Mrs. Ahmed stated this yesterday during the maiden Nutrition programme on KwaraTV titled: "Adequate Nutrition and Healthy Living”, a programme organised by the Kwara State Ministry of Communications to enlighten Kwarans on the importance of adequate nutrition and living healthy lifestyles.

According to her, the promotion of adequate dietary habits by the State Government is aimed at empowering residents to make informed food choices that could lead to improved health outcomes, particularly in combating common ailments linked to poor nutrition.

During the programme, Mrs. Ahmed listed the importance of adequate diet, which include appropriate mix of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, proteins, and dairy products.

"Eating a variety of food helps to ensure that individuals receive essential nutrients vital for maintaining good health," the Officer stated.

She encouraged viewers to incorporate more local foods into their meals, which will not only support local farmers but also provide access to fresh and nutritious options for Kwarans.
