KWSG REINTRODUCES FREE BUS PALLIATIVE TO EASE TRANSPORT COSTS
The Kwara State Government has again reintroduced bus palliative support to provide relief to residents of Ilorin Metropolis amidst the current economic challenges in Nigeria.
The Commissioner for Business, Innovation and Technology, Hon. Damilola Yusuf Adelodun, disclosed this today in her office, saying that launched as this initiative is part of the State's efforts to cushion the effects of rising transportation costs.
The Commissioner noted that the designated buses are made available to provide free transportation to all residents, pointing out that these buses are heavily subsidized transport services on specific routes within Ilorin, the State capital.
Hon. Damilola said the buses will cover key routes such as Sango, Ogidi, Mandate, Post Office, Amoyo, among others, stressing that this will ensure that commuters, especially, students, workers and low income earners, can move across the city with ease.
The Commissioner emphasized that the State government is committed to mitigating the challenges faced by the people of Kwara, urging residents to take advantage of the palliative support and be patient and understanding, as the State government works on long-term economic recovery measures.
She further assured the public that this intervention will run for an extended period, with plans to review and expand the service based on the evolving economic situation.
The Commissioner reiterated that the aim of this initiative is to alleviate the financial burden on residents who are already struggling with the high cost of living.
