In continuation of the ongoing ecological projects inspection across the 16 Local Government Council Areas of Kwara State, the Commissioner for the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, Hon. Abdullah Abubakar Bata  has expressed excitement over the ecological projects at Patigi Local Government Area of the State.

The Commissioner who could not hide his excitement over the projects, expressed satisfaction on the construction of the dual box culverts at the Kparumagi area of Patigi. While reiterating the multiple advantages the project, he thanked the people for their patience, acknowledging the challenges they had to endure because they are predominantly farmers who need to move their farm produce to the town for commercial purposes.

Hon. Bata is especially happy with the construction of the modern dual culvert bridge, considering the joy the project will give users who have waited for long to easily move their produce to the market.

He, however, admonished other councils in the State to borrow a leaf from the Patigi Council, which has ensured that their projects have really redefined the essence of government intervention on  ecological challenges and economic development of the community.

In her remarks the Development Officer of Patigi Local Government, Hon. Fatimah Asabe Jiya, thanked the Commissioner and disclosed that the synergy between her office and the Local Government Council to holistically identify the much needed intervention has paid off,  expressing joy over the  enthusiasm of the people of Patigi. She promised other communities in need of similar intervention that they would be attended to in earnest.

The Director of Personnel Management of Patigi Local Government, Mrs Fabiyi Tosin said the projects were done according to laid down specifications and emphasized that the benefiting communities had requested for the projects executed.

In his appreciation, the village head of Esungi, Mallam Mohammed Chechegi thanked the government for the life changing intervention.

Mallam Chechegi narrated that the community had been cut-off for decades, adding that since the previous bridge collapsed, it became almost impossible to move their farm produce out especially during the rainy season.

Other projects visited were the construction of a box culvert at Lade, and the construction of the drainage at the Kara market, all in Patigi LGA.
