KWARTMA TRAINS TRICYCLE OPERATORS IN KWARA STATE FOR IMPROVED SAFETY, CALLS FOR COOPERATION

The Kwara State Road Traffic Management Authority (KWARTMA) has organized a maiden workshop to sensitize Tricycle operators in the state, in a bid to improve safety of lives and properties. 

The program which is aimed at enlightening and educating the Operators is geared towards righting the wrong and educating the Operators on traffic regulations and riding techniques to avoid crashes on the highways.


The Honorable Commissioner, Ministry of Works and Transport in his opening address, described the workshop as first of its kind, owing the credit to the achievement of the current leadership of the Authority. The Commissioner who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Mao Abdullahi, said his Ministry expects the workshop to be a value addition to the Tricycle Operators and improve their expertise as he declared the workshop opened.


In his welcome address, the Ag.CEO, Engr. Bamidele Michael declared that the workshop is imperative to sensitize all tricycle operators to have better riders of tricycles in Kwara State. He appreciated His Excellency, governor of Kwara State Government Mallam Abdurahman Abdulrasaq for his continuous support for the Authority.


In his own good will message, the State Chairman of Tricycle Owners Association of Nigeria (TOAN), Alhaji Saliu Gidado thanked KWARTMA for the initiative,he urged all members of the Association to cooperate with the facilitators and make use of the invaluable training they will receive from KWARTMA. He thereafter promised his unflinching support to the Authority.


The Head of training and enlightenment, CRTO Suleiman Oba Abdullahi revealed that the training will involved resource persons from Government approved driving institutions co-opted by KWARTMA to train some fractions of 350 Tricycle operators, he added that at the end of the workshop, each participant will be issued certificate of attendance for them to know the importance of the training.

KWSG Charges Traditional Medicine Practitioners on Standard

The Kwara State Government today charged Traditional Medicine Practitioners to always maintain Standard practices, to enhance a healthy society, for the benefits of all.
