Kwara Govt Closes Murtala Muhammed Way (Unity Bridge Lanes) – Traffic Diverted

The Kwara State Government announces the closure of Murtala Muhammed Way (Unity Flyover Lanes) starting on Saturday, October 19, 2024. This closure is necessary to expedite the completion of the ongoing Unity Bridge project, a key initiative under the Urban Renewal Agenda of His Excellency Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq. The project aims to enhance road networks and stimulate economic growth across the state.

The Honourable Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engineer Abdulquawiy Olododo, urges motorists to utilize alternative routes during this period. He reassures residents that the closure has been planned with safety in mind and will ultimately lead to improved travel conditions.

Motorists coming from Ibrahim Taiwo Road should use Post Office Road, while those approaching from Offa Garage are advised to take Police Road. Additionally, road users coming from Wahab Folawiyo Unity Road should utilize Obbo Road to reach their destinations.

The Commissioner expressed regret for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciates the public's cooperation during this time.

Motorists are reminded to adhere to traffic guidelines and exercise caution while navigating the area.
