COMMISSIONER EXCITED OVER OYUN LGA PROJECTS

The Kwara State Government has commended the Executive Chairman of Oyun Local Government Council, Hon. Akanbi Kamar over the ongoing ecological projects in the Council.

The Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, Hon. Abubakar Abdullahi Bata disclosed this in Oyun Local Government Council Area, during his ongoing inspection of ecological projects in all the Councils of the State.

He said he was impressed by the performance of the Executive Chairman, knowing fully well that he was yet to be elected when the projects were approved.

Hon. Bata who expressed happiness over the execution of the projects, added that all the ongoing projects were done according to specifications with the use of quality materials.

In his words, “I want to appeal to other communities with similar requests to be patient as their demand will be attended to soon”.

He implored other Executive Chairmen to emulate their colleague in Oyun, by ensuring they take charge of their projects, as no excuse would be accepted for non-execution of the projects.

Earlier in his remarks, The Executive Chairman thanked the Commissioner and his team for finding time to inspect their projects, while assuring him that the projects would be completed according to specifications in the interest of the people.

 According to the Chairman, “Government is a continuum, both in asset and liability, l felt it is my responsibility to ensure that dividends of democracy are delivered to my people”.

Among the ongoing projects inspected were the construction of 450 meters drainage at Baale Road in Ipe Ward, construction of 450 meters drainage at Iyaloja Road at Erin-lle, North Ward and construction of a ring culvert at Alaya Community in the Ilemona Ward.

The Commissioner was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry,, Mrs Iyabo Modupe Adekeye, The Director, Local Government Affairs, Mrs Akande Christiana and other top officials from the Ministry.
