KWSG Charges PHC Workers on Professionalism

The Kwara State Government has emphasized the importance of professionalism among health workers in the Primary Health Care (PHC) Centres across the State. 

This call was reiterated by the Commissioner for Health, Dr Amina Ahmed El-Imam, during the Closing Ceremony of the 10-day refresher training for frontline health workers on integrated PHC Services, held across the 16 Local Government Areas of Kwara State.

Dr El-Imam, speaking at the closing ceremony held in Ilorin West and Ilorin East LGA, urged health workers to apply the new knowledge acquired during the training to effectively upgrade primary health care services in the State. 

She outlined the substantial resources allocated by the State government to enhance healthcare delivery at the grassroots through PHC centres, highlighting the pivotal roles of health workers in complementing these efforts.

Addressing the participants, Dr El-Imam emphasized the importance of professionalism in attracting patients to their facilities and emphasized the need for health professionals to possess qualities such as confidentiality and empathy for their patients. 

She commended the participants for their exemplary conduct throughout the training, noting their positive representation of health workers in the State.

The Commissioner expressed gratitude to development partners who collaborated with the State Ministry of Health to facilitate the training of over one thousand five hundred nurses, midwives, and community health workers across the 16 LGAs. 

Reproductive Health Coordinator at the State Ministry of Health, Dr Kofo Ibrahim encouraged participants to share their newfound knowledge with colleagues in their respective PHCs.

The event also highlighted the support of the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA) and Jphiego, particularly their contributions in the provision of essential hospital equipment, which were presented during the training.

KWASRRA COMMENCES LOCAL GOVERNMENT RESIDENTS REGISTRATION

The Kwara State Residents Registration Agency has commenced registration for the staff of Local Government Areas and farmers across the 16 Local Government Areas of Kwara State. The second phase of the registration exercise is focused on the registration of the members of Staff of the Local Government Areas (LGA), Local Government Education Authority ( LGEA), Teaching Service Commission ( TESCOM) and farmers across the State.
