KWSG REINTRODUCES SUBSIDIZED TRANSPORT PALLIATIVE PROGRAMME

The Kwara State Government has again reintroduced the subsidized transport palliative programme to cushion the effect of the Federal government's fuel subsidy removal through the State owned Soludero buses.

The Commissioner for Business, Innovation and Technology, Hon. Damilola Yusuf Adelodun, disclosed this yesterday while speaking at Soludero park, Post Office, Ilorin, where the Soludero buses are to be used for the new transport palliative programme. 

The Commissioner, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Mary Kemi Adeoshun,  added that this programme will drastically reduce road transportation fares along notable routes within Ilorin metropolis, for all categories  of students, workers and the public.

Hon. Damilola also reaffirmed that these State owned Soludero buses will cushion the effects of transportation  problems in the State.

The Commissioner noted that they will ply the following routes with passengers paying subsidized rates:

- Post Office to Amayo through Ganmo: #200 (instead of #400)
- Post Office to Eiyen-Korin through Oja-Garin Alimi: #300 (instead of #500)
- Post-office to Oke-Ose through Oyun, Kwara Poly, and UITH: #300 (instead of #500). 

She charged the drivers to be dedicated to the assignment given to them knowing well the  unparalleled commitment of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq towards cushioning the effects of the cost of transport fare on students, workers and the entire populace.
 
Earlier, random interviews were conducted to know the reactions of students and the public on the reintroduction of the transport palliative for the citizens of the State. They thanked the State government for the initiative.

This initiative demonstrates the State government's commitment to alleviating the financial burden on citizens and ensuring affordable transportation fares for all.

Present at the programme were the Director, Personnel, Finance and Supply, Mr. Tunde Thompson Amos; Director, Commerce, Mr. Taiwo Adebisi and other members of staff.

Kwara SUBEB Announces Modalities for Teachers' Recruitment Exercise

 • Applicants to Report at Their Local Government Areas on September 5 The Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (KWSUBEB) wishes to inform the general public that all applicants for its community-based recruitment exercise are required to report to their respective Local Government Areas on Thursday, September 5th, 2024, by 9:00 AM prompt.
