The Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has flagged-off Residents Registration Exercise for all residents in the State, through the Kwara State Residents Registration Agency (KWASRRA).

The Residents Registration Exercise is aimed at establishing a suitable database of all residents across the 16 Local Government Areas of Kwara State as well as create a unique means of identification for all the residents of the State.

While declaring the exercise open at the Banquet Hall today, Governor AbdulRazaq disclosed that "the Residents Registration Act was signed into law in 2021 to help track the residents of Kwara State in order to plan and allocate resources judiciously."

The Governor stated that "the registration exercise is designed to get accurate information of every citizen who resides in Kwara State and be able to cater for their needs."

He urged the people of Kwara to embrace this opportunity and make themselves available for the registration exercise, calling for the cooperation of all residents in order to achieve the set goals.

The registration exercise commenced with the Governor, being the first citizen to be registered at the ceremony and a registration card was issued to him immediately.

Earlier, the Acting General Manager, Kwara State Residents Registration Agency, Mr. Tajudeen Jimoh, stressed that the registration is crucial for all residents and it is aimed at capturing over 3 million residents, urging them to willingly submit themselves towards the course, as resident card will be issued to every registered citizen.

Mr. Jimoh said the cards will enable the State government to keep proper database of all the residents in the State, adding that the registration will last for a period of six months in order to enable the State Government ensure proper planning and allocation of resources to all the Local Government Areas of Kwara State.
 
He noted that the Data Capturing Supervisors (DCS) and Data Capturing Officers (DCO) have been critically trained to handle the registration devices for accurate results.

The Acting General Manager appreciated Governor AbdulRazaq for providing a conducive environment for all stakeholders involved in the registration exercise.

Desist from Lifting Students to Coaching Centers- KWSG

Kwara State Government has sounded serious warnings to proprietors of coaching centers across the state, to henceforth desist from lifting students from various schools, under the pretext of preparing them for Seniors Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE)or be ready to face the full wrath of law.
