The communities that received the boat assets comprised Belle, Gbere, Yeluwa, Fanagun, Tada, Kanko, Gidanmodi, all from Edu LGA. It would be recalled that the Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON, on 26th of June, 2024, performed the flag off ceremony of the Fourth Disbursement by Kwara Fadama CARES and Kwara State Community and Social development Agency-NGCARES, where farmers received different agricultural inputs and assets, with another category of beneficiaries getting health-supporting items.

Since the flag-off event, the government has been presenting boats (commercial and fishing) to coastal communities across Kaiama communities, like Lafiagi and others in Edu and Patigi, Edu saw another turn of presentation today as seven more communities from the LGA got seven boats which are to be used to ease the residents' local coastal transportation and improve their livelihood.

Handing over the boats to the communities, the Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, said that this administration's arm of succour will not exclude any farmer in the State, stating that various interventions to better the lives of farmers will be regularly initiated.

The Governor, who was represented by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Farmers' Intervention, Hon. Abdullahi Suleiman Belle, added that boats presented to the communities are surely to  make the beneficiaries economically fulfill their coastal endeavours.

Earlier, the State Project Coordinator, Kwara Fadama CARES, Engr. Dr. Busari Toyin Isiaka, stated that such initiatives were intended  to bring the people closer to the government and remind them of the Government's commitment to actively addressing their plights.

Represented by the Technical Officer (Inputs), Kwara Fadama CARES, Engr. Abdulmalik Zubairu, the Coordinator noted that the present administration understood that provision of commercial and fishing boats to the people of coastal areas would make unquantifiable positive effect on the recipients, saying that Governor AbdulRazaq recognized farmers as the catalyst and hope for prosperity.

Appreciating the government on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mallam Santa Fanagun of Fanagun Farmers' Community Association,
explained that with the support provided for farmers, their output will be greatly boosted, assuring the government of good maintenance of the assets received.

Also part of the highpoints of the event was the test-running of the boats in the Yeluwa River which gave the residents across the benefiting communities an intriguing session.
