Kwara Ministry of Water Resources Perm Sec Receives NANS Award

The Permanent Secretary of the Kwara State Ministry of Water Resources, Mrs Omolola Christiana Asonibare, has received an award in  recognition of her exemplary leadership by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Kwara State Polytechnic Chapter, today in her office. 

Mrs Asonibare who noted that the government was always ready to support students and youths in the State, expressed her appreciation to NANS for the gesture and admonished them to be good ambassadors of Kwara State wherever they go.

According to her, "to go higher in life you need to appreciate the days of little beginnings and most importantly, have the fear of God," she added.

Asonibare encouraged the students to put more effort in their studies, shun bad behaviours that could draw them back, advising them to maintain peace and  shun all forms of social vices.

The Director of Engineering Services at the Ministry of Water Resources, Engineer Yusuf Wopa, thanked NANS for the recognition, describing Mrs Asonibare as an outstanding leader, worthy of emulation.
 
He advised the students to keep up the good work they have started and be good ambassadors of the State and their institution.

Director of Action and Mobilization of the National Association of Nigerian Students at the Kwara Polytechnic, Comrade Bayode Kehinde Stephen, said the visit was also important in order to deliberate on the challenges and modalities of improving the well being of Nigerian students. 

He said the purpose of giving the Permanent Secretary the award of  exemplary leadership was due to her giant strides, commitment to the welfare of students and her mother-like approach to the students community.
