KWSG FLAGS OFF THE EVACUATION OF ILLEGAL DUMP SITES

The Kwara State Government has flagged off the evacuation of illegal dump sites across the Ilorin, metropolis, to sustain a clean and hygienic environment in the State Capital, even as it warned residents to desist from indiscriminate dumping of refuse

The flag off ceremony which took place at the premises of the ministry, was performed by the Commissioner, Mallam Shehu Ndanusa Usman during the week.

During the flag off, the Commissioner explained: "it's in a bid to sustain a clean and hygienic environment and promote healthy living, the Ministry with the support of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has commenced the evacuation of Illegal dump sites across the Ilorin metropolis and the exercise will continue until all illegal dump sites are evacuated."

He therefore warned Ilorin residents to desist from dumping refuse indiscriminately or face the full wrath of the law.

The Commissioner seized the opportunity to call on individuals and corporate organisations to join hands with the present administration in its bid to eradicate indiscriminate dumping of refuse with the aim of sustaining a clean and hygienic environment in the state.

Illegal dump sites already evacuated were those at the Admiralty Villa, Sakele and Airport road.
