KWSG To Record Higher Budget Performance In 2022- Banigbe

The Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has  been commended for the implementation of the new minimum wage for workers across all levels just as the state government plans to complete on-going infrastructural projects in the state, as captured in the  2022 Appropriation Act.

This was contained in a statement made by the Hon. Commissioner of Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, Mrs. Remilekun Banigbe.

Banigbe appreciated Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his magnanimity and commitment towards workers' welfare by graciously implementing the minimum wage and the  consequential adjustments for officers from grade level 07 and above.

She said that the implementation of new minimum wage amidst dwindling economic realities in the state is borne out of the government's  desire to keep workers motivated  and perform optimally in the discharge of their duties in moving the state to the next level.

Banigbe  said the governor has already demonstrated that the 2022  budget is  assented to address the actual needs of the people, adding that the new minimum wage implementation is an indicator that the current administration is committed to the actualization of budgetary plans in the 2022 Appropriation Act.

Banigbe stated that AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has demonstrated  exemplary vision to develop the state to an enviable level by pegging the Capital Expenditure at 56% in the 2022 Appropriation Act.

This, she noted,  would help the government to complete  on-going infrastructural projects such as the International Conference Centre, Garment Factory, construction of roads, renovation of hospitals, construction of new health facilities and the renovation and construction of new schools  amongst others.

The commissioner added that the infrastructural projects will help open  the state to investors, which will in turn create job opportunities for citizens and people outside public service system.

She noted that the infrastructural projects when completed will reduce the youth's dependence on already over bloated white-collar jobs, make them to be self-reliant and become responsible members of the society that will contribute to the advancement of the state.

She charged the workers to reciprocate the Governor's confidence in them by being more loyal and productive in the implementation of government policies as well as contribute their own quota to the overall development of the state.

Kwara State Government has sounded serious warnings to proprietors of coaching centers across the state, to henceforth desist from lifting students from various schools, under the pretext of preparing them for Seniors Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE)or be ready to face the full wrath of law.
