Kwara SUBEB opens bids for 2025 FGN/UBEC/SUBEB intervention projects

Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) on Wednesday opened bids for execution of the 2025 FG/UBEC/SUBEB school intervention project. A total  number of 211 bids were received for the 12 lots that were advertised for the 2025 FGN/UBEC/SUBEB Intervention Projects.  The projects to be executed include; the construction of blocks of two classrooms with offices; construction of four-compartment gender-segregated VIP toilets; construction of Safe School Initiative projects; remodeling and renovation of classrooms; fabrication and distribution of 2-seater pupils/students furniture and  drilling of solar powered bees with tank stands amongst other projects. KWSG Approves 30% Peculiar Allowance for Agencies, Parastatals, Media Houses

The Kwara State Government has approved the payment of a 30% Peculiar Allowance for workers in Agencies, Parastatals, and Media Houses who had yet to benefit from the allowance earlier approved for their counterparts in the mainstream civil service. The Acting Head of Service, Dr. Olufunke Mercy Shittu, disclosed this in a statement issued today by the Press Secretary, Office of the Head of Service, Mr. Okanlawon Solomon. EID-KABIR/ILORIN DURBAR: KWARTMA DEPLOYS 450 PERSONNEL FOR SPECIAL TRAFFIC OPERATIONS

The Kwara State Road Traffic Management Authority (KWARTMA) has deployed no fewer than 450 personnel across the state to manage traffic and ensure hitch-free movement during the Eid-Kabir celebration and the annual Ilorin Durbar festival. The Chief Executive Officer of KWARTMA, Abdullahi Suleiman Oba, disclosed this in a statement issued in Ilorin, saying the special operation would run from May 22nd  to May 30th,  2026, to address the anticipated increase in vehicular and human traffic before ,during and after the festive period. The Kwara State Government has reiterated its commitment to safeguarding public health through improved food safety and sanitation practices across the State. This was highlighted during a one-day training programme organised by the Kwara State Ministry of Health for food handlers, water factory operators and bakery owners in the  State. The handover ceremonies took place at the premises of the newly revitalized Primary Health Care Centres, Ganmo and Balogun Alanamu, amid excitement and appreciation from members of the host communities.
