YULETIDE:: KWARTMA EMBARKS ON STRATEGIC DEPLOYMENT OF PERSONNEL

The Kwara State Road Traffic Management Authority (KWARTMA) has deployed its operatives for special duty to ensure effective traffic management during the 2024 Yuletide season. According to the Ag. CEO, Engr. Bamidele Michael,the deployed operatives include Officers and Men who will control traffic at different choke points within the metropolis, Mobile Patrol personnel to ensure Traffic law compliance and effective gridlock management, and also the Rescue Team members who will be on standby for prompt emergency responses.  Bamidele noted that the presence of KWARTMA will also ensure hitch-free traffic in Offa and Bode Saadu as an extension of services to Kwara Central and Kwara North senatorial districts. KWARTMA therefore urges commuters to familiarize themselves with safety standards and regulations to protect lives and property. UNODC, NDLEA applaud Kwara govt's efforts in curbing drug abuse, trafficking

• As govt completes 2-day training on prevention, treatment The Kwara State Government on Thursday concluded a 2-day training on drug abuse prevention, treatment and care amid applause by international and national bodies for its efforts in arresting the trend of the menace, especially among young people. The capacity building training, which was put together by the Office of the Special Assistant to the Governor on Drug Abuse Prevention and Control, drew participation from 110 public secondary school teachers across the 16 LGAs of the state. KWSG Reiterates Expected Benefits from KWASU Satellite Compuses

The Kwara State Government has reiterated the benefits expected from the just established Kwara State University (KWASU) satellite campuses in Osi and Ilesha-Baruba, respectively. 95.5% of state workers already got Nov salary: KWSG

• Says only 3 percent of SUBEB teachers, 22% LG workers not cleared yet • ⁠Govt already briefed labour leaders: Finance Commissioner  At least 97% of all the state government’s 18,466 employees have been paid their November salary and bonus, Kwara State Ministry of Finance has said.  Finance Commissioner Dr. Hauwa Nuru said in a statement on Tuesday that the outstanding 4.5% who have not got their November pay are those who are yet to register with the KWSRRA as had been directed by the government since July 2024, or those with other pending issues.  The government also said that 97% of the SUBEB teachers and employees have been paid their salary for the month, while the pending 3% are those without KWSRRA bonafides. “For the Local Government Areas, 77% of the workforce has been paid, while 23% remaining are those who have not complied with the KWSRRA requirements,” the statement added. “These figures — of the state, SUBEB, and local government areas — contrad...

 The Kwara State Government has once again urged tertiary institutions in the State to engage in school farming to increase food production and promote the economic growth of the State.
