Commissioner Commends YIG, Re-affirmes Commitment to Youths Development

  The Kwara State Commissioner for Youths Development Amb. Ndanusa Usman Shehu has commended the Youths Integrated Group (YIG) for its impactful initiatives and reaffirmed government's support in fostering youths development through skills acquisition and economic empowerment programmes. The Commissioner made this submission to members of the Youths Integrated Group who paid him a courtesy visit in his office today. KW-GIS PLEDGES SUPPORT TO NIS

The Executive Chairman of the Kwara State  Geographic Information Service (KWGIS), ESV. Abdulkareem Babatunde Sulyman has pledged its continuous support to the Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).  Sulyman gave the assurance while receiving the State Comptroller of the Immigration Service,  Mrs Abolupe Bewaji, and her entourage who paid him a courtesy call. The Chairman, appreciated the mutual working relationship between the State Government and the  Command in securing the borders, assuring that the Agency would not renege in its support and assistance to ease its operations in the State. KWSG Step up Campaign Against Open Defecation

 Kwara State Government has assured the public of her commitments at reorienting average citizens, against open defecation, as it poses great threats to public health and safety. The General Manager, Kwara State Rural Water Sanitation Agency (RUWASA), Mr Olorunfemi Oladipo gave this assurance in Ilorin of recent, during a visit to Wara, the Headquarters of Ilorin West  Local Government, in continuation of the statewide engagements with key stakeholders, to stamp out open defecation in the state. Kwara Monthly Sanitation Holds Sat 22nd

The Kwara State monthly environmental sanitation excercise  for the month of February will come up on Saturday, 22nd February, 2025 between the hours of seven o'clock and ten o'clock (7:00am to 10:00am) in the morning.  Residents are hereby enjoined to participate fully in the sanitation exercise by clearing and cleaning both their residential and business environments.  The Commissioner for Environment Hajia Nafisat Musa Buge stated that members of the public are to note that there will be no vehicular and human movement across the state during the period of the exercise. The Commissioner further stated that waste management trucks will be made available for waste collection and subsequent disposal at government approved dump sites.  Please note that it is an offence punishable under environmental law to dump refuse on pedestrian walkways, road side, drainages, canals, and all other unapproved dump sites. Kwara Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ ) Project has concluded community/stakeholders' sensitisation, even as Government cautioned farmers across the state against deforestation to guide against soil infertility. Kwara State Government in collaboration with International Vocational, Technical and Entrepreneurship College (IVTEC), Ajase Ipo, hereby announces the closure of the Youth Empowerment and Employment Generation Scheme (YEEGS ) registration portal, for the batch 8 admission and resumption commences immediately. Govt Targets 28,000 Girls for Digital Skills Training

In its efforts aimed at equipping girls with sought-after digital skills for future readiness, Kwara State Government has flagged off a digital literacy training targeting over 28,000 adolescent girls, in 70 public secondary schools, across the three senatorial districts of the state. The Kwara State Government has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late "Hafsat Lawal" who was gruesomely murdered over the weekend. The Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr. (Mrs.) Mary Arinde, who visited the family house of Hafsat Lawal at Adebalu Compound of Oju-Ekun Sarumi Street, Ilorin, Kwara State, expressed shock over the ugly incident. Kwara State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) will on Monday (February 17, 2025) send a text message to 9,459 applicants who have successfully completed their online application in the ongoing teachers’ recruitment process.  TESCOM Chairman Mallam Bello Taoheed said in a statement that the invited applicants are those who scaled through the first leg of the process, such as having relevant university degrees and meeting the age requirement of the process.  “A total of 9,459 are being invited.
