The Kwara State Ministry of Transportation has received the newly appointed Permanent Secretary, Alh. Salau Kabiru Abdullahi, following the recent swearing in of some Permanent Secretaries in the State. The Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Lafia Aliyu Korasabi who received the Permanent Secretary in his office today, congratulated him on his appointment and acknowledged his dedication to duty and rich experience as an administrator in the Kwara State Civil Service. Kwara State Government to Temporarily Close Ibrahim Taiwo Road for Asphalt Works

The Kwara State Government has announced the full closure of Ibrahim Taiwo Road (Taiwo Isale), beginning on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. The temporary closedown is to allow for asphalt laying as part of ongoing road rehabilitation efforts on the road. Honourable Commissioner for Works, Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo, stated that all vehicular traffic will be redirected via Wahab Folawiyo (Unity Road) and Obbo Road. KWARA GOVT APPROVES REPAIRS OF TRANSFORMERS IN IGBAJA

In its continued efforts to drive infrastructural development across the State, the Kwara State Government has approved the repair of two 2.5MVA, 33/11KV transformers in Igbaja, Ifelodun Local Government Area of the State. This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Energy, Engr. AbdulAzeez Kola AbdulGaniy, during an on-the-spot assessment visit to the transformer site in Igbaja. He emphasized the urgency of the repair, noting that the work will be fast-tracked to restore electricity to the area. "Electricity is essential, and the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, places high priority on the welfare of Kwarans and residents of the State,” the Commissioner stated. KWSG Charges Intending Pilgrims To Be Good Ambassadors

The Kwara State Government has charged all intending Muslim Pilgrims from Kwara to be good ambassadors of the state by being steadfast and focused throughout the hajj rites, emphasizing that the pilgrimage goes beyond tourism and social media affairs. Over 2,150 Pilgrims to Perform 2025 Hajj from Kwara

The Executive Secretary of the Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkadir has disclosed that two thousand, one hundred and fifty (2,150) intending pilgrims from the State have fully paid for this year's Hajj exercise. Alhaji Abdulkadir, who disclosed this today at the enlightenment programme and special prayer organized today for the intending pilgrims, held at the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, revealed that only less than thirty people have not made complete  payments so far. The Executive Secretary who admonished the intending pilgrims to know that Hajj is not an avenue for tourism, but a vital pillar of Islam that requires good intention, charged the intending pilgrims to be good ambassadors of Kwara and Nigeria.
