Govt Charges Residents to Report TB Cases

The Kwara State Government has charged residents of Asa Local Government Area to be proactive by promptly reporting suspected cases of Tuberculosis (TB) within their communities, to nearest health facilities, as a stitch in time saves nine.  The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Amina Ahmed El-Imam, gave this charge during the week, at the official investiture program for the TB Champion of Asa LGA, held at the Aisha Buhari Mother and Child Hospital, Eyenkorin, in Asa Local Government Areas of the state.  El-Imam emphasized the critical need for Asa LGA to lead in identifying and reporting TB cases, noting that proactive case detection is vital in tackling the public health challenges posed by the disease.  She highlighted the importance of community involvement and vigilance, stressing that early detection and treatment are key, in eradicating the disease. EDUCATION MINISTRY PARTNERS KWIRS TO ENHANCE INTELLECTUAL CAPACITY OF STUDENTS

In a bid to further enhance the intellectual capacity of students across the state, the Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe has partnered with the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KWIRS) and pledged the Ministry’s readiness to provide full support and cooperation in achieving the set objectives. Kwara Transportation Ministry Synergizes with KWIRS on Improved IGR

As part of its initiatives towards improved revenue generation for the State, the Kwara State Ministry of Transportation has pledged readiness to synergize with relevant agencies and stakeholders to fulfill its mandate of ensuring reasonable improvement in its revenue generation. Leadership issue: AFAN suspended as Kwara sets up caretaker committee as farmers’ official representatives

Kwara State Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has appointed a seven-person multi-stakeholders’ caretaker committee to represent the interest of farmers, a step taken to prevent the leadership crisis at the state chapter of the All Farmers’ Association of Nigeria (AFAN) from affecting farmers across the state.  AFAN is enmeshed in some leadership tussles, which are a subject of court litigation and other contentions by different interest groups within the agric sector.  The interim caretaker committee comprises Abdullahi ibn Ahmed (Kwara North); Alhaja Shakira AbdulGaniy Kodokodo (Kwara Central); Barr. KWSG Takes Delivery of 1,982 Life-saving Commodities from UNICEF

The Kwara State Government today takes delivery of 1,982 cartoons of Ready to Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF) in Ilorin, even as it promised to remain focused and committed to scaling up interventions that will eradicate child malnutrition and improve the overall well-being of children across the state. Taking the delivery of the consignment on behalf of the State Government, the State Commissioner for Health, Dr Amina Ahmed El-Imam reaffirmed government's commitments and dedication to strengthening nutrition interventions and reducing malnutrition-related morbidity and mortality in the state.  The supply, according to the Commissioner, "was procured through Ariel Foods Nigeria and made possible through the UNICEF Child Nutrition Fund.
